Protecting Working Kansans

The Earned Income Tax Credit (often referred to as “EITC”) is known to be one of the strongest poverty fighting mechanisms in America. The EITC rewards low-wage work by reducing income taxes that low-wage workers pay on their earnings and supplementing their wages. In the Federal and the Kansas EITC, some very low-wage workers are able to receive a “refundable credit” even when their wages have been so low they do not owe taxes.

Expanding Medicaid for Kansans

Medicaid is a Federal and State program that helps lower-income individuals or families pay for the costs associated with long-term medical and custodial care, provided they qualify.
